Going global. With ILO Global Business and Disability Network and the Zero Project

Say YES to disability! With this message, we met in Vienna with the ILO Global Business and Disability Network and the Zero Project (ILO GBDN).

First two days

We began our stay in Vienna with a meeting dedicated to the future of an inclusive labour market. We co-created this space as representatives of the ILO Global Business and Disability Network in Poland.

Agata Robińska, President of our foundation, led a workshop for representatives of international organisations affiliated with ILO GBDN – organisations that work together to strengthen the presence of people with disabilities in business.

We spoke about the responsibility of leaders – and about systemic solutions that connect employers and people with disabilities.

It is during meetings like these that decisions are made. Decisions that translate into real action – also in Poland.

On the second day, we took part in the ILO GBDN Conference at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna – “Unlocking Potential: Disability Inclusion in Business”.

At the heart of the discussions were inclusive employment, reasonable accommodations, and inclusive leadership – with contributions from business leaders, EU representatives, and accessibility experts.

Next three days

The following days were filled with the Zero Project Conference at the United Nations headquarters, bringing together more than 1,000 participants from around the world – representing business, expert communities, and innovation.

The conference showcased solutions that genuinely increase accessibility and inclusion – proven models that can also be implemented within national organisations.

This is how global change is built – through real action and cross-border collaboration.

We were proud to support Polish organisations presenting accessibility initiatives. Solutions that stand alongside the best international examples:

  • Karolina Mendecka and Artur Marcinkowski – Business Accessibility Forum
  • Iwona Szymańska and Radosław Krawczyk – BLIK
  • Krzysztof Mirosław Czechowski and Mariusz Jedynak – The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS)

    • We also visited the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Vienna, where we met with Minister Janusz Styczyk.

    Our thanks go to Małgorzata Grobelna for organising the meeting at the Embassy – and above all for her commitment to the conference, the interviews, and her role as an ambassador of Polish accessibility solutions on the international stage.

    It is thanks to people and partnerships like these that global ideas turn into concrete action – also in Poland.

    We returned to Poland with renewed energy, inspiration for the next steps, and meaningful relationships with people who always say YES.
